Rothenburg was my favorite town that we visited! It was like being in Storybook. It reminded me of Disneyland! It was this quaint little village and the people we are all so friendly. They had the cutest little shops and were known for their wood carving. I had to get a nutcracker for my travel wall! The town is completely surrounded by a wall which was built in the middle ages for protection. Every thing is so green and I loved being in the mountains again.
We had a lot of fun pretending we could understand German. We just guessed what they were saying and smiled a lot. Several people spoke English which made it pretty easy if you can find them. For lunch we just pointed to something and hoped for the best! It was kind of fun to have that unknown factor. My lunch ended up being some chicken dish which was delicious. We found out later that half of menu was game animal (elk, deer, some other weird animal). Ben would have loved that! They decorated everything with antlers. I hope I get to go back there some day with more time to explore!
