Paris is a city that never sleeps and never stops for anything! It was fun to see all the big sights. We saw the Eiffel tower by day and then took a boat ride up the Sienne River at night to see it all lit up! Both were just amazing to look at.
Versailles was one of the best tours we took. Kaeli enjoyed King Louie's house quite a bit! He was such a character. In every country we visited somehow he was always brought up. The gardens there were amazing.
The one thing I was most excited about seeing was the Louvre art museum. It was incredible. It was the most massive building full of the world's most talented artists. We only had about four hours to see as much as we could. I didn't even begin to see what I wanted to but I hurried to most of the big things. I love Monet and all of the Impressionists painters. I ate lunch in the Tuilleries garden and enjoyed seeing as much of Paris as I could in two afternoons!
Notre Dame was a beautiful church!
Paris was a fun city. I want to go back again when I have more time to explore it! The people were not that nice to Americans. They don't like us very much. Our flight home was long but I was so tired I just closed my eyes and tried to rest. I had a middle seat so sleeping was out of the question. Next time I fly to Europe it will be in business class! Our layover was in Boston and I made a mad dash run to Legal Seafood for some Clam Chowder. We made back to Texas at 9 p.m. and my body was saying it was time to wake up. The time change coming home was much harder than going there. I tried to sleep for a couple of hours but ended up getting up again and cleaning the house because people were coming over to watch our dogs and stay in it. Leaving the two boys home alone for two weeks did not go over so well in the cleaning department. I'm so glad I got to spend that time with Kaeli even though she didn't always want me by her.
