Homecoming 2014 - Josh's Party!!

After a little convincing from me, Josh invited his seminary class over for a homecoming party.  Our homecoming theme this year was Decades so that was the theme I choose to go with so they could feel like a part of it!  The kids arrived at the house and then we went to a different location for each decade starting with the 50's, 60's 70's & 80's.
Josh wanted to go in style so a super stretch Hummer limo came to escort them!  I think that was the favorite activity of them all.  We could have just driven around in the car all night and they would have been perfectly happy!
The Dragon had neon lighting inside that changed color every few minutes!
I let Josh choose where to go to dinner.  Surprise!!  He chose Chipotle.
After dinner we headed to Ft. Wildflower for our 50's activities!
First up was a hula hoop competition!
Old Fashion Soda Slurping Contest- Josh won that!
Next we had convertible races, bubblegum blowing contests, photo booth pictures and the ever friendly game of "Do you love your neighbor"!  Everyone got a pair of fuzzy dice!
Next we headed off to the 60's at the lake
We had a pinata which the kids went crazy over.  We were going to build a campfire and make smores but it was 87 degrees so we didn't do that.  We decided going to the 70's was a better idea!
The 70's started with a popcorn throwing competition.  Who could get the most pieces of popcorn in the afro!  We split up into boys versus girls but it quickly turned into a full out popcorn fight.  Good thing the dogs love popcorn!
Next came to dance lessons for YMCA and Saturday Night Fever.  To my udder surprise they actually did it!  Of course, they did need to yellow hats to do it!!
They were rocking out complete with a disco ball!  They ended with 70's with a quick game of capture the flag
We then headed to the church for the 80's.  I set the gym like a Pacman board with the glow sticks being the circles that they had to pick up.   Mary & I were the ghosts that went around tagging them out.   They had fun with this.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of it in the light.
We played twister and I showed them Michael Jackson's Thriller video.  They tried to do that but it wasn't as much fun as The Twist or the Beach Boys.  The ended the night with a game of Dragon Tails.  I think the kids had a lot of fun!  I know I did!!!
