When it rains, it POURS!

This week has been a nightmare.  Last Thursday our water heater went out and flooded our attic.  Thankfully I caught it pretty quickly due to a sweet tender mercy and Kody dropping his favorite toy in the pool!  Usually I don't go out to the side of the house but I had to that day to get the pool net to fish out the toy.  When I got to the side of the house I saw water everywhere.  Not a good sign.  I yelled for Rick and my immediate thought was the pool is leaking.  Rick assured me it wasn't that but something just as bad. GREAT!  Rick immediately got up in the attic and we started hauling down all the luggage which made the dogs go psycho!  They know what that means when the suitcases come out and they were not happy.  Kody barked at me for 15 minutes straight.  After we got everything down and assessed the damage we knew the water heater would have to be replaced.  This was a double whammy because we have two water heaters.  The other unit was the same age so we had to replace both of them.  Talk about a BIG bill.  We decided to go with the tankless system which we had in our old house and loved.

Josh can no longer complain about Kaeli taking all the hot water!  Because of the way our attic is set up we had to call an electrician to come and add some outlets up there just to make it work.  Hey what's one more bill when your forking out the dough.  Friday morning I wake up to go running with my friends and my car didn't start.  I tried not to panic hoping it was just a dead battery but no that would be to easy,

We replaced that and it still didn't work so I don't have a car and have to share with Kaeli which is not going so well.  She is not good at sharing.  Just saying!

Monday morning rolls around and Kaeli comes downstairs all grumpy saying it's so hot in the house.  It felt fine downstairs so I went up to turn down the AC a little bit more and she actually was right.  It was hot- REALLY HOT!  87 to be exact.  I dreaded making that phone call because of what he was going to say.  Nightmares went through my head.  When he finally come downstairs, ringing wet from sweat from being in the attic in the 100 degree texas heat, I felt so bad.  He informed us the AC unit was on it's last leg but he fixed it the best he could until we could replace it.  I think I stopped breathing momentarily.  All three of our units are the same age as the water heaters.

I don't even want to know how much that is going to cost.  Right now my husband is not breathing so well either.  The AC guy turned our faucet on in the back which leaked into the house and now my dining room is covered in water and my carpet is soaked. AWESOME.  The broken faucet led to this-

Just for fun let's throw in a hole in the wall and baseboards which are wet and will also have to be replaced.  We just bought our tickets for Hawaii which is going to kill us when the bill comes.  On the other hand, I'm kind of glad because that trip would have never happened if we haven't gotten them.  I'm really afraid to say "what else could possibly go wrong" because it's only Tuesday.  At this rate I will be bankrupt by the end of the week.  I think it's time to get a job!
