Nauvoo

We started our visit walking down the Trail of Hope.  This is a long road where all of the wagon were lined up waiting to cross the Mississippi River into Iowa.  The kids are sitting on one of the barges that ferried them across.  The Mississippi River is so big and I felt overhelmed at that task of crossing it.  All along the road they have testimonies of the people waiting to cross and what they said.  It brought tears to eyes to read their accounts of suffering.  It was the middle of February in a blizzard and they were not prepared to leave but were being forced out by mobs.

Ben would have been a natural teamster!

Joseph was tall!

Making rope !

It wouldn't have been a complete visit without a visit to the home of Brigham Young!

There are way to many pictures to put on here but I'm so glad that we got to have that opportunity as a family to visit Nauvoo.  It made me even more excited to go on our pioneer trek next month with the youth.  Rick & I are going to be a Ma & Pa company.
